HISTORY

Medica San Miguel de Cozumel, was founded in 1962 by MD. Antonio Negron Rubio, a visionary military physician. The hospital started as a maternity clinic, with one medical office and four rooms.

In 1972, because of the quality of its services, Medical San Miguel de Cozumel was selected by the Mexican Government to provide the medical service to the local community until 1978 when the public institution (IMSS) acquires its own building. Nowadays, this public hospital is named in Dr. Negrón’s honor in appreciation to his call of duty, ethics and respect for the human spirit.

Since its beginnings, Medica San Miguel de Cozumel, has been the best option in medical attention and diagnosis services for the local community as well as for tourists that visit this destination. We offer modern facilities and the latest in medical equipment with a competitive price range.
